So this past
weekend I attended and survived my 10 year high school reunion!!! Yikes, it’s
been 10 years already!!! I am not sure if I should be grateful, concerned or a
little bit of both. I am grateful that I am still alive 10 years post HS and
over these past years I feel like I have grown a lot personally. As for being
concerned, I am getting further and further away from my youth and as we all
know that can be scary.
Going into
the reunion I honestly wasn’t sure if I entirely wanted to attend. Facing my
younger self and reflecting on the past can be hindering as I prefer to focus
on my future!!! However, I believe in experiencing everything that life has to
offer and I do not want to miss out on anything.
Often living
in New York City can cause you to lose touch with people quickly, so having the
opportunity to see familiar faces in person and not just on Facebook was great.
I enjoyed seeing mature versions of my old classmates, everyone looked great
and the overall experience was very positive. After attending the reunion I was
glad that I went, it wasn’t as intimating as it is portrayed in movies or
television and I look forward to attending the next reunion. So here’s to the
next 5 or 10 years Class of 2006!!!
I decided on
wearing a LBD, 1 because it is classic and 2 because it is flattering. I am a
person that usually dresses very colorfully so for me wearing all black was
refreshing and a step away from my norm!! This entire look was from Torrid.
