DIY Ugly Christmas Sweater

Ahh the joys of Christmas!!! Christmas is one of my favorite times of year, I love to get together with friends and family, go to parties, decorate, gift wrap and simply be creative.  So this year when I was invited to an Ugly Christmas Sweater Party, I jumped at the opportunity to use my creativity to make my own Ugly Christmas Sweater. Not only was it fun but it only cost $10 to create and who doesn’t like saving money during the holiday season!!!!

To get some fun cool ideas on the cheap, I paid a visit to my local 99cent store. They had so much Christmas decorations to choose from I almost could not decided what theme to do.

I wanted my sweater to be the perfect combination of ugly, pretty and just a bit tacky, so I decided on being a ball of lights!!! I found this really cool garland with light bulb cutouts connected, so I snagged two packs for just $5 bucks!!! And if that wasn’t enough I found a night bulb necklace at Duane Reade pharmacy to go along with the look for just $5 bucks as well. For those of you that are not near a Duane Reade the necklace can be found at Urban Outfitters.

Not only was creating my sweater fun, it really got me in the holiday spirit!!! If you don’t have the time to craft your own sweater, Target, Macy’s and Walmart have a nice selection to choose from.
