Spending my day at the beach is one of my favorite summer
activities, I just love soaking up the sun, sand and surf, but more importantly
I live for a fun cute bathing suit. So this year I decided to push myself even
further and I wore a bikini for the 1st time ever to the beach.
Last year I got my feet wet and explored the joys of wearing
a fatkini poolside, I definitely turned heads but it helped me to feel more
confident and fierce in my own skin. So this year on my 1st beach
day of season I eagerly grabbed my bikini and headed to the beach. I am not
going to lie donning a fatkini at the beach was a little more intimidating at first
then at the pool, for a number of variables. One, there is way more people at
beach and two, waves can be very disrespectful to a bathing suit!!! But I
quickly got over my insecurities and enjoyed myself, I never felt more
liberated in my life!!!
Tips to feel Confident & Stylish:
1.
Stop worrying about who is watching!!! Just
relax and have fun, personally I go to the beach to unwind and enjoy nature. I
am not overly concerned about the people around me and I feel that for the most
part other beachgoers feel the same. Honestly everyone that goes to the beach
is putting themselves on display, making themselves vulnerable for criticism.
Keeping that in mind helps me to be confident with myself because NO one has
the “PERFECT” body.
2.
Get a good fitting bathing suit that you love
with cute accessories. There are so many options and styles for plus size women
these days that it is simply overwhelming. For me I love a unique fun bathing
suit that has really good support for the “girls” because I like to be active
at the beach and I love waves. Pair that with a cute beach bag, sandals and
shades and you will feel like a million bucks!!!!!
3.
Make an adventure of the day, go with people
that you love and feel comfortable with. Perhaps go to a new beach and explore.
You will be guaranteed to have a good time and let the sun melt away your
insecurities.
When I saw this bikini set at Torrid I just had to have it!!! I love
how supportive and comfortable it is, the fringe not only made it unique but it
allowed me to show skin while still remaining a little modest. The whole look
was giving me a modern day 70’s vibe and I loved it.
